Tunisie-Tribune (dans) – The Dubai Air Show unfolds as the largest event in the Aviation sector in the United Arab Emirates. Working behind the scenes to ensure the delivery of a seamless and safe flying program, Dubai Air Navigation service (dans) team of Air Traffic Controllers are playing a significant supportive role to all of the Dubai Air Show parties.
From the onset of the show in 1986 when it was known as Arab Air, dans has played a supporting role in the Flying Control Committee, that encompassed the management of the entire air traffic control operations of the show which rely on robust coordination with the UAE Air Force and all of the various flying teams participating at the event.
Managing the flying program from its Air Traffic Control Tower at Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC), dans carries out several procedures prior to the commencement of the show to ensure the seamless delivery of safe and expeditious operations. This includes the evaluation of all participating pilot profiles, as well as the preparation of the airshow manual that governs the procedures implemented by the pilots in accordance with ICAO guidelines. Adding to its trusted task, dans is responsible for the flying program schedule preparation and ensuring the coordination and compliance of the pilots participating at the show to it.
dans also conducts daily pilot briefings on safety procedures, aircraft maneuvers within the airspace and weather conditions on each day, this comes in addition to its role in managing air traffic operations and all ground movement activities at the Dubai Air Show.
